Dubai cops to take cue from cyberdome

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state police and Dubai police have reached an agreement to tighten the noose on all those hatemongers and online abusers from the state, who operate from the Gulf countries.
The Dubai police have agreed to share information on those engaging in cybercrimes with the state police. A delegation of Dubai police, who paid a visit to their counterparts here, has reached a consensus with the state police in this regard.
The five-member delegation, led by Dubai Police Brigadier Khalid Al Rasooqi, was here to learn more about the successful model of Kerala Police Cyberdome in a bid to set up a similar facility in Dubai. The delegation informed the state police officials that they would cooperate with the state cyberdome in sharing vital information about cybercrime activities, especially on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. Cyberdome chief ADGP Manoj Abraham took them on a tour of various departments of the dome, including cyber security, artificial intelligence and cybercrime prevention software development.
The delegation also visited the police headquarters, where they were welcomed by state police chief Loknath Behera and headquarters ADGP S Ananthakrishnan.
