Lashes out at Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give answers to the country in connection with the ‘intelligence failure’ which led to the Pulwama terror attack.

Mr. Owaisi was addressing a public meeting to celebrate the 61st revival of the MIM party.

Asserting that he was against politicisation of the martyrdom of security personnel, Mr. Owaisi said he was seeking answers in ‘earnestness’.

“This is an intelligence failure and the country acknowledges it. Against whom has the action been taken? First you say it was 200 kg (of RDX), and now 20 to 30 kg. First you said it was an SUV, now Maruti. How did RDX get there? How many officers have you suspended? How many Minsters have resigned and and how many resignations have you accepted?” he asked.

Touching upon Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s return he said: “By Gods grace Abhinandan has come back and we are relieved.” He added that whoever is India’s enemy and tries to weaken it is his sworn enemy.

‘Disciple of Satan’

Tearing into the Jaish-e-Mohammed and its leader Masood Azhar, Mr. Owaisi said that the latter should be thrown in prison. He criticised Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s statement in which he reportedly said that the evidence against the organisation was required to take any action.
