The officers who interrogated Gaurav said he has shed light on some important aspects of the case.
“It could also be in the form of arrest of the kingpin, Ketan Kaushik, who is on the run since the international kidney racket was busted in Kanpur on February 17,” said SP South Raveena Tyagi.
Police had applied for a remand of Gaurav in the court of CJM on Saturday. The court ordered 12-hour police custody on Sunday of the accused for investigation.
Gaurav, a native of Lakhimpur Khiri, one among the eight arrested in connection with international kidney racket, also told investigators that his role in the racket was limited to coordinators and donors, while the task of finding doctors was handled by others, including Ketan.
He also divulged that he used to be in constant touch with the coordinators of some prominent Delhi hospitals.
