PATNA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will blow the poll bugle in Bihar for 2019 general election by addressing NDA’s Sankalp Rally along with CM Nitish Kumar and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan at Gandhi Maidan here on Sunday.
This will be, in fact, the first joint political rally of PM Modi and Nitish after the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Incidentally, the PM will be visiting Bihar for the second time within a fortnight. He had earlier visited Begusarai on February 17 to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 30,000 crore.

On Sunday, the PM is scheduled to land at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport here at 11.45am. He will reach the rally venue at 12 noon. LJP chief Paswan and CM Nitish will address the rally first. The PM will speak for around 45 minutes before returning to Patna airport at 2pm.

Two stages have been erected at the venue. PM Modi, Nitish, Paswan, Union ministers and MPs from Bihar as well as state ministers will seat on the main stage. Another stage parallel to the main stage has been earmarked for MLAs, MLCs, former legislators and state office-bearers of the three NDA allies –JD(U), BJP and LJP. There will also be two VIP blocks in front of the stage for NDA people.

While PM’s Begusarai visit was completely official, this time he is expected to boost morale of the workers and supporters of the three constituents of the ruling alliance ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha election.

The PM and national presidents of two other NDA allies are also expected to tear into the Mahagathbandhan, which is still to strike a deal on seat-sharing.

“It is going to be a historic rally. There is unparalleled enthusiasm among people and the size of the crowd will be more than any other rally organised in the state in the past,” Paswan told TOI.
