PANAJI: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar visited the Goa Medical College and Hospital for checkup on Sunday.
Parrikar reached GMC on Sunday at 8am and returned to his private residence by around 10.30am.
“It was just a normal check-up,” chief minister’s office (CMO) said.
After undergoing treatment for three days at GMC, Parrikar was discharged on Tuesday.
On February 23, Parrikar had gone to GMC for an upper GI endoscopy, but eventually it wasn’t conducted. A day later, a team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, arrived in the state to evaluate Parrikar’s health.
The team of doctors led by Dr Pramod Garg, professor of gastroenterology and associate dean at AIIMS who has earlier treated Parrikar for his pancreatic ailment, changed some medication.
Before being admitted to GMC, Parrikar had attended a couple of public functions and even inaugurated the new bridge over the Mandovi.
Parrikar was first diagnosed with the pancreatic ailment in mid-February 2018 and has undergone treatment in the US. On September 15, he was taken to AIIMS and returned to Goa after a month. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment at his private residence.
