BJP MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said on Saturday that the surgical strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on the terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were unprecedented, and they led to isolation of Pakistan, the credit for which should go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pakistan buckled under international pressure due to the leadership of Mr. Modi and the decisive action taken by him, he said, recalling that the Manmohan Singh Government did not have the courage and will to do a similar operation on terrorist modules in Pakistan in the wake of the 26/11 attack in Mumbai in spite of the readiness of all the three Armed forces to strike back.
Addressing the media here, Mr. Narasimha Rao said the comments made by Chief Ministers N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mamata Banerjee and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on India’s retaliation were demoralising and helped the Pakistani media in furthering that country's agenda.
Mr. Modi achieved many diplomatic victories and the manner in which India handled the crisis won global acclaim, Mr. Rao observed.
Mr. Rao said that Mr. Naidu was trying to politicise the South Coast Railway Zone issue even before the Railways took a commercial decision on the distribution of revenue generated by the crucial Kothavalasa-Kirandul line that passes through the existing and new divisions in A.P. and Odisha.
Mr. Rao expressed the party’s intention to contest all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in A.P. and Telangana.
