Ahmedabad: Man stabs cousin to death in public on Sarkhej-Vishala Road

AHMEDABAD: A 24-year-old man, Golu Khan, was stabbed to death by his cousin, Irshad Khan, in full public view on Sarkhej-Vishala Road on Saturday morning. Police sources said Irshad suspected that Golu was having an affair with his wife and the two had frequent fights over the issue.
Vejalpur police officials said they have registered a case of murder against Irshad Khan, who runs pakoda stall in Fatehwadi. “The deceased also ran a pakoda stall and lived in Fatehwadi,” a police official said.
Vejalpur police inspector L C Odedra said they have formed to team to find Irshad Khan. “The accused and the deceased had both come to the city from Uttar Pradesh. We are tracking the perpetrator and will arrest him soon,” Odedra said.
According to police sources, Golu Khan was standing with some other people near a petrol pump on Sarkhej-Vishala Road on Saturday morning. “Irshad came there with a knife and stabbed Golu in the abdomen. As Golu collapsed, the other people there tried to save him, but Irshad attacked them as well, before fleeing,” a police source said.
