Many parties want to join front: Anbumani

PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday claimed that his party had entered into a pact with the AIADMK-BJP front for the Lok Sabha polls only to pressure the State and Central governments to give Tamil Nadu its due rights.

“We were raising Tamil Nadu’s issues from the outside all this time. Now, as part of the alliance, we would force both Central and State governments to fufil the demands of the State. Through this alliance, we will surely find a solution to the problems of the State,” he said. He claimed that many parties wanted to join the AIADMK-led alliance.

According to him, seeking exemption for Tamil Nadu from NEET, declaring the Cauvery delta region a protected agricultural zone, loan waivers for farmers, reintroduction of the old pension scheme for government employees, release of seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and implementation of the Cauvery-Godavari irrigation scheme, among others, would be the key issues that would be raised during the election campaign.

Hits out at DMK

He alleged that the DMK was spreading rumours about the PMK on social media since the party did not join an alliance led by the former.

The PMK’s candidates for the polls will be announced once constituencies are allotted to it, he added.
