AHMEDABAD: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus will be introduced in the new academic year for Classes X and XII in Gujarat's Hindi and Urdu medium schools. Disclosing this, officials on Saturday said that the board has already announced introduction of Gujarati medium books from the next academic year for Classes X and XII.
"The first languages - English, Hindi, Urdu - would be implemented first, whereas other subjects would be inducted in phase-wise manner.
The move aims to improve performance of students from the state in national competitive exams after Class XII," said a board official, adding that teachers are being trained simultaneously before the introduction of books to get them acquainted with the syllabus and pedagogy.
