Ludhiana: Khanna police recover 80kg poppy husk from two persons

LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers after they recovered eighty kilograms of poppy husk from their possession. The accused were identified as Partap Singh of Amba Colony in Buland City of Uttar Pradesh and Baljit Singh of Mohalla Akta in Mullanpur of Ludhiana


Giving details, SSP Khanna, Dhruv Dahiya said that police have started a special campaign against the drug trafficking and misdemeanors. He added that during this campaign, police party was patrolling at T-Point Lasara near Grain Market side.


Police said that while patrolling, police party saw two persons coming from Village Jargari side, adding, that on seeing the police party, they tried to divert their way, but on the suspicion, police party stopped them for checking purpose.


Police officials said that after identifying the duo police checked their bag and found 80 kilograms of Poppy Husk in it. They added that police later registered a case under sections 15/61/85 of NDPS Act at Maloud police station and they were arrested.


SSP said that the culprits are still being questioned and there is a possibility of major disclosures from them.
