Actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has been going through a rough phase career-wise. After all, he hasn’t seen a hit to his credit since his film with director Anil Ravipudi, Pataas. And after all this time, his latest release 118 that released on Friday has opened to positive reviews and even marked an above average start at the box office.
Interestingly, the end of the first day of release, things started looking up for the film that also stars Shalini Pandey and Nivetha Thomas as the leads. Word of mouth helped the film with a limited release see an increase in a number of screens not just in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but also in an overseas market like the US right from the afternoon shows itself.
The film is expected to pick up momentum over the weekend with no other major films at the screens having released.
On its opening day, director KV Guhan’s 118 collected a theatrical share of Rs 1.50 crore from the three regions Andhra, Nizam and Ceded. However, things might go up a notch higher from today onwards since the positive talk will be a boost for the audience. With Shivaratri holiday falling on Monday, this could be a fruitful opening weekend for the thrillers
