VMC team impounding cattle attacked

Vadodara: A Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) team impounding cattle met with stiff resistance from cattle owners and their aides on the Sun Pharma Road late on Friday evening. A supervisor of the team was also roughed up and stones were pelted on the team following which an offence was registered on Friday night.

The incident took place when a supervisor and other personnel of the squad of the civic body removing cattle were catching bovines on the Sun Pharma Road. A group of cattle owners and their aides were allegedly following the team.


When the team remained firm and tried to impound cattle moving around on the road, unidentified persons allegedly roughed up a member of the team. The cattle owners also abused the members of the team and some of them even pelted stones.


Members of the team informed the city police that rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. An offence was registered at the J P Road police station regarding the incident.tnn
