Property dealer commits suicide

Jagjit Singh, 58, took the extreme step over a land dispute.
Marado police post in-charge ASI Pritpal Singh said, “Jagjit had a land dispute with one of his relatives, Harbans Singh. Upset over it, he consumed acid at his house early on Friday. His family rushed him to a private hospital, where he succumbed during treatment.”
Police have recovered a suicide note from his room in which he accused Harbans and his aides Kulwant Singh, Surinder Kaur and three others of forcing him to take the step. “He wrote in the note that they had been threatening to implicate him in a false case,” the ASI added.
Dehlon police have registered an abetment to suicide case against the six accused,
