24-yr-old raped on pretext of marriage
TNN | Mar 2, 2019, 07:21 ISTLudhiana: Salem Tabri police have booked a man for raping a 24-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage. The victim had also given a birth to a girl after which the accused refused to marry her and instead married some other woman.
The woman stated in her complaint that Sanjay Rajpur of Bhattian had established a physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage and she also got pregnant with his child and gave birth to a girl in 2018.
However, the woman said, the accused refused to marry her and later she came to know that he had solemnised marriage with some other woman.
ASI Jagdev Singh, who is investigating the case, said that a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
