BHOPAL: Principal Secretary (PS), finance, Manoj Govil has refused to take charge of managing director (MD) of Provident Investment Company (PIC).
The Company had entered into a controversy when a scam worth in crores had come to light. Govil was made MD of PIC replacing its former PS, Anirudh Mukherjee. Govil has written to Chief Secretary SR Mohanty telling that the charge of MD was of junior level and he is a senior.
Govil also stated that he already had lot of works. Sources said Govil does not want to take charge of the Company following its disputes. There are several court cases against the Company. A CBI probe is also going on in connection with a property dispute in Mumbai. The Company manager, Atul Borker was booked in a scam of properties too. Govil has refused taking charge of the Company as he wants to stay away from controversies.
