It is a dream come true for land oustees of Mallannasagar as authorities have distributed pattas (documents) to them.
The exercise began on Thursday at Etigaddakishtapur in Toguta mandal, the first village which went on an agitation three years ago demanding implementation of the Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act–2013 (LA Act – 2013).
R&R Colony
The Rehabilitation and Resettlement Colony (R&R) would be coming up at Mutrajpally near Gajwel revenue headquarters.
“The house – 1-03 of Kurakula Narasimhulu, son of Mallaiah, aged 58, resident of Etigaddakishtapur in Toguta mandal was acquired for Komaravelli Mallannasagar project. He was identified as eligible for R&R package and house site certificate with 250 yards site is being allotted at Mutrajpally/Sangapur limits in Gajwel mandal. Final patta certificate with plot number would be issued after approval of the layout by the government.”
‘Confidence-building’
“The site is being extended to them as they have given consent stating this is better package than the compensation under LA Act 2013. The patta certificate stands cancelled and final patta will be not issued if it was proved that you are ineligible in future inquiries,” read the primary certificates issued on Thursday at Etigaddakishtapur.
“We have planned to distribute about 1,100 pattas for the residents of Etigaddaksihtapur, and it would be completed by tomorrow,” said Veer Singh, Mandal Revenue Officer of Toguta. This is being seen as a confidence-building measure among the land oustees.
Doubts on riders
“Doubts are creeping up as there is no mention of survey number on the patta though the Telangana State government states that it would be mentioned in the final patta certificate. Similarly, it was stated the ineligible will not be issued final certificates. After conducting an enquiry and collecting data only they have issued these certificates. Now they are putting another rider. What it does mean?” asked one of the residents of the village.
