The National Weather Service has upped its prediction for snowfall on Satuday.

A winter storm warning has been posted for Plymouth and Bristol counties for 1 a.m. to 7 p.m., with 4 to 7 inches likely. The snow may mix with rain and sleet along the coast.

Forecasters put the chances of more than 8 inches of snow at 1 in 4.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for the rest of eastern Massachusetts, where a range of 2 to 5 inches is predicted.

Snow will begin falling after midnight and will continue into Saturday afternoon. Winds will be light, with the temperature near freezing.

A stronger storm late Sunday will bring the potential for significant snow north and west of Route 95. Snow may mix with sleet or change to rain along the coast.

Sunday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 39. Snow will move in late Sunday night, with 4 to 8 inches possible.

On Monday, rain, snow, and sleet are likely before noon, followed by a chance of snow until 4 p.m. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

After Wednesday night's storm, Boston has had 14 inches of snow this winter, less than half of the average total.
