Health Minister C Vijaya Bhaskar inaugurated a primary health centre (PHC) in Tiruvallur built at a cost of Rs 60 lakh on Thursday. Collector R Maheshwari was also present at the occasion.

In another event, the Tiruvallur district administration handed out welfare schemes worth Rs 3 crore to over 1000 beneficiaries at a public relationship camp held at Devampattu village near Ponneri.
The camp was organised by the district administration and was attended by local MLA Siruniyam Balaraman and MP Dr Venugopal.
According to a release, a total of 1109 persons from across the district were given patta documents, old age pension smart cards besides other welfare measures for the under-privileged in the district.
Speaking at the occasion, the minister said that the state government is committed to public welfare and to ensure that its initiatives reached the common public. He also said that several hundred families would benefit from the PHC.
