Representative imageBERHAMPUR: A 60-year-old man was on Wednesday arrested in a village in Ganjam district on the charges of raping a nine-year-old girl the previous day.
The accused was identified as Bipra Mohanty. He has been produced in court, police said.
The accused allegedly raped the girl when she was watching television in his house. Nobody else was present in the house then, police sources said.
The incident came to light when the girl complained of illness and pointed to injury marks on her body. Both the accused and girl were medically examined, police sources said.
