Southwest Airlines delivered a forgotten bridesmaid dress to Costa Rica

It's every bridesmaid's worst nightmare: A dress left hundreds of miles away and a fast-approaching wedding.

Luckily, Southwest Airlines came to the rescue for a bridesmaid who left her dress in Houston after heading to a Saturday wedding in Costa Rica. A friend tweeted Southwest Airlines to see if they could deliver the dress on an upcoming flight.

"Yesterday evening, I got a call from my friend, in a panic, saying that she had left her bridesmaid dress in Cypress at the alterations place," the bridesmaid's friend Rachel Turner told Houston's ABC13. "I asked about overnight shipping to Costa Rica, and they told me the earliest it could get there would be Monday."

After Southwest stepped in, Turner dropped the dress off at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston this morning, and the dress was safely packed in a duffel and put on a plane en route to Costa Rica.

It was a happy ending for all. The dress was reunited with its bridesmaid soon after it landed in Liberia, Costa Rica around 2 p.m. Can you hear the sigh of relief from that wedding party?
