Bhopal: The state government on the job to remove mayors in three cities of the state, is considering to file an appeal in Chhindwara mayor’s case. Earlier, the High Court had quashed the notice issued to remove Chhindwara mayor Kanta Sadarang from her post.
The issue of removing Chhindwara mayor has become a prestige point to Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Nath has asked to initiate further action in the case. Nath, annoyed over the government losing case in the High Court in this matter, had removed principal secretary, Pramod Agarwal of urban administration department.
The High Court had allowed the state government to take action. The government is left with options of either to file appeal or issue notice to the mayor. The advice of advocate general has been sought in the matter. Next decision would be taken after receiving the report in the case.

Mayor to launch agitation
The background of agitation against the government was prepared after serving of notices to the mayors. The ongoing conflict between mayors and government has flared up further after Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma was denied opportunity to propose vote of thanks during Mukhyamantri Yuva Swabhimaan Yojana. BJP has all 16 mayors of Municipal Corporations in the state. The possibility of escalation of their disputes is said to be high.
