Realtors demand reopening of Sewa Kendras
TNN | Mar 1, 2019, 07:26 ISTLudhiana: The Approved Property Dealers Association (APDA) on Wednesday demanded reopening of Sewa Kendras which were shut down by the state government.
In addition, the association has also demanded that permanent offices be made for patwaris. The businessmen also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Ludhiana in this regard.
Association president Kanwar Onkar Singh Narula told TOI, “Ever since the Sewa Kendras were shut across the state, people have been facing difficulties in procuring affidavits, caste certificates etc. This move was totally anti-public and has backfired. We therefore demand the government to open these centres again.”
Narula added, “Another problem pertaining to revenue works is that patwarkhanas are not functioning properly and patwaris are not regularly showing up at their offices because of which people are unable to get various works done. We request the government that patwarkhanas should have a fixed spot and the name plates of patwaris along with their phone number highlighted outside these offices. We have already submitted a memorandum in this regard to the state government.”
