Aster DM Healthcare on Friday informed the exchanges that it has increased its stake in Prerana Hospital, subsidiary of the company. The company currently holds 80.80 per cent stake and 100 per cent compulsorily convertible preference shares (CCPS). Following conversion of the CCPS into equity shares on February 28, the shareholding of Aster DM has increased to 84.93 per cent. This subsidiary owns and operates a multi-specialty hospital in Kolhapur under Aster Aadhar Hospital. Similarly, by subscribing to the rights issue, the company has increased its stake in Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences to 73.22 per cent (in December 2018) from 70.68 per cent (September 2018). It operates hospitals in Calicut, Kottakal and Kannur in Kerala. Shares of Aster DM gained 0.4 per cent at ₹157.15 on the NSE.
