A mother of one was kidnapped and last seen alive getting into a vehicle after leaving a Boston nightclub. Days later, the woman’s body was found in the trunk of the suspect’s car.

Jassy Correia, 23, of Dorchester was last seen early Sunday morning leaving Club Venu “in the company of an unknown male,” now identified as 32-year-old Louis D. Coleman III, according to the Boston Police Department.

On Thursday, Coleman, who is from Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested in Delaware as authorities said a body was recovered and are awaiting positive identification. The cause and manner of death are pending.

Correia’s brother told WCVB that she was celebrating her birthday Saturday night with three friends.

Correia, who was the mother of a 2-year-old girl, was wearing big hoop earrings, orange jumpsuit and a jean jacket with an image of red lips and pink wings on the back of it, according to police.

A missing persons report for Correia was filed on Wednesday after her brother and father were unable to get in touch with her.

Her father, Joaquin Correia, told NECN that he called his daughter on Tuesday to wish her happy birthday but the call was not answered.

“If I don’t see my daughter, I don’t know how I’m going to live. I feel bad. She told me, ‘Daddy, I’m going to go out, ‘ ” he tearfully said.

It was not immediately clear if Coleman has retained an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
