Two pathways being built under the platform, says HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy

The metro station at Jubilee Hills Check Post, to be opened soon on Ameerpet-Hitec City route on Corridor Three, would be a unique one when compared to other overhead metro stations.

Unlike the other stations that have two levels, a concourse and a platform on top, this would be a single-level station with no concourse owing to a peculiar land profile. As passengers enter the station, they would directly get onto the platform deck.

But to enable passengers to move to the other side of the platform, two pathways are being built under the platform, said Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy here on Friday. During an inspection of the ongoing ground-level work along with L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad project director M.P. Naidu and other senior officials, he called for a provision of queue managers at the station to facilitate passenger flow at all the four entry/exit points. Also, parking space is being provided at the station.

He wanted the L&TMRH to complete work on all the eight metro stations and keep them operationally ready. Mr. Reddy said discussions would be held with the representatives of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) and other organisations to run shuttle services from Durgam Cheruvu and Hitec City metro stations to campuses of IT establishments at Hitec City and Gachhibowli areas. He also cautioned shopkeepers against tampering the bollards being installed on footpaths to prevent parking or movement of vehicles.
