GREATER NOIDA: Two men have been booked for allegedly robbing a Dadri resident on gunpoint in Surajpur on Febrary 26.
Jai Kumar Sharma was returning home after meeting a friend in Bisrakh when he was attacked. “I had borrowed Rs 80,000 from my friend and was returning home when the two bike-borne assailants attacked me. One of the accused pulled out a gun and pointed it towards me. They snatched my bag that had the cash and fled,” Sharma said.
Sharma alleged that though he immediately approached the police and gave them the bike’s registration number, the latter did not initiate an investigation in the case. “An FIR was registered in the case only after I got the complaint recommended from the SSP,” he said.
According to the police, the complaint was filed on February 26 but the investigation got delayed as Sharma was changing his statement. “An FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 392 (robbery) of the IPC. Prima facie, it appears that someone known to the victim has committed the robbery,” said Muneesh Chauhan, SHO at Surajpur police station. In another incident, an accountant at Yamuna Authority was robbed of his mobile by four men who assaulted him for not disclosing his ATM PIN on Wednesday night. The victim was identified as Sanjeev Kumar, a native of Bulandshahr.
