Second accused in murder of RSS worker Sharath Madival surrenders before court
Kevin Mendonsa | TNN | Mar 1, 2019, 19:01 ISTMANGALURU: Nearly two years after the murder of RSS worker in Bantwal, the second accused in the case has surrendered before court after repeated plea of anticipatory bails of him were rejected by the high court.
The accused has been identified as Kalandar Nisar, 27, resident of Panolibail, Sajipamuda in Bantwal taluk. RSS worker Sharath, a resident of Sajipa in Bantwal taluk, was attacked by unidentified miscreants on July 4 and later he succumbed to injuries after three days. Sharath was running a laundry along with his father in Bantwal town and was killed when he was about to close his shop.
Police added that Kalandar, who was absconding ever since incident on July 4, 2017, was booked for IPC 448, 326, 302 and 34. However, he was trying to get anticipatory bail, but repeatedly it was rejected and with no other option, Kalandar surrendered before local court in Bantwal.
So far 17 persons including Kalandar have been arrested.
