New turmeric price improves

The price of new turmeric improved and the arrival of turmeric for sale has been increased. The price of the new turmeric was ₹750 a quintal higher than old finger turmeric and about ₹one thousand a quintal of root variety on Friday at the weekend market when compared to Thursday market prices. Many farmers have started bringing medium and some poor quality old turmeric for sale. said RKV Rravishankar President, Turmeric Merchants Association.Rajamanickkam another trader said we the traders are expecting fresh upcountry demand and within next few days they may get few upcountry demands. He said the traders are keenly watching the arrival and sale of turmeric in other markets located at Sangli and Nizamabad.
