Toyota GR Supra Allocation Sold Out For 2019 In Europe

It took Toyota 17 years to bring back the Supra nameplate and less than two months to sell the entire allocation for 2019 in Europe.

Thousands of reservations have been received for the initial lot that contains 900 units. Still, those who have missed their opportunity to spend their cash on the 2019MY GR Supra will be able to place an order for the cars that will be delivered next year.

“I’d like to thank the first 900 customers for their reservations, securing their priority order access to the new Toyota GR Supra ahead of its official European premiere at 2019 Geneva Motor Show”, said Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada. “As Chief Engineer, I cannot wait until the moment they get behind the wheel, I believe that we will reignite the passion and put the fun back into driving for as many people as possible.”

To mark the return of the Supra nameplate and to celebrate customer enthusiasm for the sports car, Toyota says it will treat all 900 owners of the initial batch with exclusive experience programs and “a number of money-can’t-buy rewards”, in the first year.

In Europe, the new-gen Supra is being sold with the same engine as its U.S. sibling. The 3.0-liter turbo-six pushes out 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque and comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. With the Launch Control function engaged, it needs 4.3 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The base GR Supra starts from £52,695 ($70,020/€61,512) in Britain and comes with active differential, sport brakes, adaptive variable suspension, 19-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry&go, black Alcantara sports seats and others. The 3.0L Pro spec can be had from £54,000 ($71,754/€63,035) and adds black leather sports seats, head-up display, JBL premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, Storage Pack and Light Pack.
