Congress president Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Ranchi today. This is to formally kick-start the party’s campaigns for upcoming Lok Sabha polls. And this will be Rahul’s first visit to Jharkhand since he took over as the AICC president. The State Congress has made preparations to ensure the rally is a grand success. People from across all spectrum, including the intellectual class have been invited for the rally. Relevantly, the Congress party along with JMM, JVM-P and others have announced the formation of a grand alliance (mahagathbandhan) to counter BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls this year. However, an announcement on a seat-sharing deal is awaited owing to differences among the coalition partners.
