VISAKHAPATNAM: Even though preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Visakhapatnam are going on, there is a cloud of uncertainty over the meeting after reports of Pakistan's decision to release the Indian fighter aircraft pilot Abhinandan who had fallen in Pakistan territory after the aircraft crash came in.
AP cops including anti-Maoist force Greyhounds and anti-terrorist force Octopus have been deployed and security has been stepped up in defence establishments along the coast line.
Sources in BJP said that the PM may attend the pilot's reception on Friday but will also attend the meeting in the city that is scheduled at 07:00 pm.
However, there are indications that all meetings of the PM have been put on hold.
The city police chief said they have not received any communication regarding cancellation of the meet. In view of escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan, extra security precautions have been taken.
