At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March contract edged up by 25 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 152.25 per kg in a business turnover of 2,114 lots.
Metal analysts said positions built up by traders due to upsurge in demand by battery-makers in the physical markets attributed to the rise in lead prices in futures trade.
