NOIDA: Windows of at least eight cars were broken in sectors 76, 78 and 45 and 46 by miscreants within a span of 50 minutes on Thursday.
The belongings of at least five people were stolen from their cars. Police suspect it to be the work of Gulel Gang.
Two laptops, a gold ring and several purses containing cash were stolen from many cars, including Swift Dzire, Creta, Ciaz, etc.
A Swift car with the registration number HR26DC3072 became the first target at 6.40pm where the accused broke the windows of the back seat of the car and fled with a laptop, a cheque book and other important documents.
A Swift Dzire belonging to an Amrapali Silicon City resident in Sector 76 became the second target of the miscreants who took away a purse containing a gold ring, a debit card, PAN Card and Rs 5,000 cash.
Both these cars were parked outside Sector 76 market and were attacked within minutes. Hyundai Creta parked outside Mahagun Mart in Sector 78 became the third target.
“When I came out of the mart, I was surprised to see that the glass of one of the windows completely shattered. When I checked with the vendors and shopkeepers around, they denied witnessing any robbery. My laptop and passport were missing from the car,” said Anirudh Verma, the owner of Hyundai Creta. FIRs were registered and police suspect the miscreants used catapults and ball bearings of the cycle for targeting the windows of the cars. Prashant Kapil, the SHO of Sector 39 police station confirmed that they have lodged an FIR in one of the cases. Ajay Agrawal, SHO , Sector 49 police station said, “We are investigating the cases.”
