3 booked for gang rape, criminal intimidation

HISAR: Hisar Police has booked three men for alleged gang rape and criminal intimidation of a 51-year-old woman, mother of six married children. However, the rape survivor has refused to get medical examination conducted. The police is still investigating the matter and a case has been registered on the complaint of the woman against three men under sections 376D (gang rape), 376 (2) (N) (continuous rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
In her complaint to the police, the rape survivor said on Tuesday evening, she had gone out to get stubble in the village farm for cooking food an when she was coming back, one of the accuse came with his two accomplices on a motorcycle and stopped her. “All three accused forcibly took me to a nearby field and repeatedly raped me . They also threatened to kill me if I told anyone about the incident,” the complainant stated.
She added that she managed to reach home at around 2 am late night and did not tell anyone about the incident due to fear. Next day, when the family members questioned her about coming home late, she narrated the entire incident after which the family approached the police.
Confirming registration of a rape case, the woman investigating officer said the survivor had refused to undergo a medical examination.
