Canadian Agency Erroneously Publishes GDP Figures Early

(Bloomberg) -- Canada’s central statistics agency mistakenly published the economic figures most closely watched by traders early on Friday morning.

Quarterly gross domestic product data was being circulated on Twitter as early as 8:04, with normal release due at 8:30 sharp.

Peter Frayne, chief of communication for Statistics Canada, acknowledged the early release and said the matter is being investigated.
