SPRINTERS’ CUP

Pesi Shroff: Captain Courage has tremendous ability and when things go right for him, he can beat any horse. The 13 draw of course is a big dampener. Clymene has only just come to me so I would not like to comment on her chances.

S.S. Attaollahi: Accolade is in good heart and I am sure he will give a good account.

S. Padmanabhan: Mauritania with David Allan will be a force to reckon with. Ruffina is the one to beat.

D. Netto: I have Titus and Rahuls Pet and both run with a chance although they are not well in on the scale when looking at the verdict in the Kakatiya Million.

L. D’Silva: Corfe Castle has the home advantage and has done everything right. I hope he can beat his older sister Ruffina.

Satish Narredu: Tutankhamun will be right there. He just got edged out in the Sprinters Trials to Mauritania, but he can reverse the verdict.

Ruffina comes after a slight setback and that may give the opposition an added advantage.

D. Todywalla: Rufina comes into the Sprinters after a slight setback. But she’s not a mare who needs much work and I think she has bounced back very well.

STAYERS’ CUP

Shroff: Sacred Roman has really come up well this season. He stays well and although he may not be as mature as some of the older horses but we have decided to take a chance. I am sure he will run well.

R. Sequeira: Reunion and Nimble Mind are both good stayers. I feel at this stage and over this distance, the older horses with more experience have a better chance. The race is very open and both my horses will run well.

Warren Singh: Nanhipari won the Golconda Oaks last year and ikes Hyderabad. She will relish the trip.

B. Suresh: Saving Grace will give a good account of herself.

K. Sateesh: First time over a trip of 3000 metres but Like Wise has always shown that she will be comfortable over the same.

Irfan Ghatala: Watchmyscript is a mare with a lovely temperament. She switches off beautifully in a race and I am confident she will get the 3000 metre trip. She will run a big race.
