Southern Railway announces timings of Madurai-Chennai Tejas Express train to be flagged of by PM Narendra Modi

CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of the Madurai-Chennai Tejas Express on Friday, which will be the fastest train running between both the cities.
The inaugural special will be flagged off by Modi through video conferencing from Kanyakumari. It will leave Madurai at 2.30pm, leave Kodaikkanal at 3pm, leave Trichy at 4.37pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 9.15pm.

The train has one first AC executive chair car, 12 AC chair cars, and two generator cum luggage/brake vans (total 15 coaches).

The regular service of Nos 22671/22672 Chennai Egmore – Madurai – Chennai Egmore Tejas Express (six days a week, except on Thursdays) will commence on March 2 as per the following timings.


No 22671 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Tejas Express will leave Chennai Egmore at 6am, leave Trichy at 10.25am, leave Kodaikkanal Road at 11.40am and reach Madurai at 12.30pm.


In the return direction, No 22672 Madurai – Chennai Egmore Tejas Express will leave Madurai at 3pm, leave Kodaikkanal Road at 3.30pm, leave Trichy at 4.52pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 9.30pm.
