Hyderabad: Quarrel over Rs 500 leads to murder

HYDERABAD: A petty quarrel over payment of Rs 500 while playing cards proved fatal for a Tolichowki resident when four of his friends bashed him to death at Hakimpet in Banjara Hills on Tuesday night.
Banjara Hills police said that Javed Pasha went to Hakimpet to meet friends — Imtiaz, Sajjad, Nizam and Syed. They consumed alcohol and played cards. Following the game, Pasha was supposed to get Rs 500. Soon, a serious argument ensued between him and the quartet. The accused repeatedly thumped Pasha on his heart. When Pasha collapsed, the worried friends shifted him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The accused surrendered before police. A case was registered under section 302 (murder) of IPC. The victim was an auto driver.
