Nearly after 24 years, the iconic Law Garden is going to get a facelift. It was made in the year 1995. The authorities want to upgrade the garden and make it a state-of-art. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has roped in private architect for the design and concept for the project. The authorities are planning to add more attractions to it.

"The Kumar Mangaldas group has been asked for new designs. They are going to submit the designs by the first week of March. Ashima group is also roped in for the project," said a senior official from parks and garden department.

The officials further said that there will be more landscapes and attractions. "Keeping in mind the aesthetic value, we will add more features in the existing area. There will be a complete upgradation with more green patches and tree covers," said the official.

The decision about an entry fee has not been made yet. At present all the gardens are been run by the civic body, except two at the riverfront which does not have any entry fee.

According to Amul Bhatt, the standing committee chairman, the place will become the world's best along with a happy street. "Planning of garden redevelopment is in pipeline and work of the street development will be completed within 6 months. This place will be the most happening place in the city," said Bhatt.

Bharat said that right now the focus is on the happy street which will serve both the purposes of parking space and a night food street. The civic body has made an investment of Rs 5.99 crore for the street development project in which one wall would be painted and have murals.
