Gurugram: Hotel manager robbed of his car at gunpoint

GURUGRAM: A hotel manager was robbed of his car and mobile at gun point near IFFCO tower on Tuesday night. Four armed robbers held him captive in his car and snatched his wallet and mobile. The robbers fled away with his car after leaving him near Bhondsi on Sohna road.
As per the complaint, an FIR has been registered against four unknown robbers under sections 379-B (snatching and use of force) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC and section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Sector 29 police station on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 10.15 pm on Tuesday night near IFFCO tower in sector 29, when the victim, identified as Kabir Sarkar Ali (28), resident of sector 59, pulled over his black Ford EcoSport for a smoke.

Ali works as a duty manager in Westin Hotel at IFFCO chowk.

“On my way to work, I stopped my car for a smoke at IFFCO tower. In meantime, two men came and flashed a gun at me. One of them asked me to sit at the rear seat and the other took hold of the driving seat. Their two other accomplices joined them near Pllazio Hotel in sector 29,” Ali told the police.


He addded that the assailants snatched his mobile and wallet which contained Rs 1,000.


“They tied my hands with my belt and covered my face with a sweater. They again asked for more money and when I denied, they thrashed me and fled with my car. I somehow managaed to return home and informed the police,” Ali stated.


“We are investigating the matter and trying to procure CCTV footage of the area,” said ASI Raj Kumar, the investigating officer.
