Audi’s New Limited R8 Decennium Pays Homage To The V10 Engine

Audi revealed the new limited Decennium edition of the R8 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the V10 engine that powers its supercar.

Available solely as a coupe, the R8 V10 Decennium looks special from the get-go, thanks to its exclusive Daytona Gray paint finish and the milled matte-bronze 20-inch wheels.

The intake manifold of the engine is also finished in the same bronze hue, while exterior features such as the front spoiler, the side sills and the diffuser are painted gloss black. The side blades and exterior door mirror housings are made out of gloss carbon fiber.

Inside we get an entirely black cabin, featuring inlays of carbon fiber and a diamond-quilted stitching pattern for the seats. Contrast stitching in gloss copper can be found on the gear selector and the steering wheel, which also comes with a black 12 o’clock marking.

Other model-specific parts include a special logo on the center console, the doors, the inlays on the carbon sill trims and elsewhere. The central badge on the center console is surrounded by gloss carbon and features a special partially matte finish patented by Audi.

The new limited edition of the second-gen R8 is based on the top-spec model, which means that it uses a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 producing 611hp (620PS) and 428lb-ft (580Nm) of torque. Audi claims a 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 205mph (331km/h).

The R8 V10 Decennium will go on sale at the same time as the facelifted version of the regular R8, but it will be available only in 222 units, each individually numbered.

Deliveries should commence this spring, with prices starting from 222,000 euros ($253k in current exchange rates) in Germany. In comparison, the standard R8 kick off at 166,000 euros ($189k) for the base 561hp model and from 200,000 euros ($228k) for the Performance 611hp variant.
