CBI seeks PCS exam details from UPPSC

ALLAHABAD: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted surprise inspection at the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) to probe the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of Assistant Personal Secretary-2010, Provincial Civil Services-2011 and Provincial Civil Services-15 exams.

The apex investigating agency is probing all the competitive exams conducted from April 2012 to March 2017. At least 584 results and 19,000 recruitments are under the scanner of the agency. The probe in this regard had started in February 2018.

UPPSC officials said a seven-member team comprising five DySPs reached the Commission at around 10 am. One of the team members met secretary, UPPSC and remaining questioned section officers.


Secretary, UPPSC, Jagdish said, "The team enquired about the technical aspects of holding the exams, which have been explained to them. They also wanted to know that about the documents related to some exams."


He said officials are cooperating with the CBI to give them the details they wanted to know.


The advertisement for APC exams was issued on 2010 while prelims was conducted on September 21, 2013. The typing and stenography tests were held from March 23, 2014 to March 30, 2014 while results were declared on June 19, 2015. There were a plethora of complaints about alleged discrepancies in the recruitment process of the exam conducted to fill 250 vacancies across the state.
