32-year-old arrested for rape attempt on teenager near Manesar

Representative ImageGURUGRAM: A 32-year-old man man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly trying to rape a 15-year-old girl in a village near Manesar. A woman from Assam, who is running a boutique in the same area, alleged in her complaint that the accused, identified as Aslam, tried to rape her 15-year-old sister when she was alone with him in the shop.
“I had hired Aslam as a tailor some time ago. On Tuesday morning, when my sister was alone at the boutique, he grabbed her hand and tried to rape her. When my sister raised an alarm, people came for her help and called the police,” she said.
A police team reached the spot and took the accused into their custody. According to the complaint, an FIR was registered against Aslam under Section 8 of the POCSO Act at Manesar’s women police station.
“The accused has confessed to the crime. He was produced in a city court on Thursday, and sent to the judicial custody,” said ASI Subhash Bokan, spokesperson of Gurugram police.
In a smilar case, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed by a sweeper. A case was registered in Sector 53 police station. The complainant is a resident of Ardee City. The police have arrested the accused who was sent to the judicial custody on Thursday. In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused, identified as Aktarul Hossain, made obscene gestures at her. An FIR was registered against the accused under section 354-A (sexual harassment) of the IPC at Sector 53 police station.
