There’s a reason why fans recognise Chris Gayle as ‘Universe Boss’. No matter how old he gets, he’s still the best in the business and fans witnessed it during West Indies-England 4th ODI. Chasing mammoth total of 418, Gayle scored 162 against England but despite his excellent knock, Windies failed to win. En route to his powerful 162 scores, Gayle crossed the 10,000-run mark in ODIs becoming only the second Windies player after Brian Lara to do so. Gayle is the 14th cricketer to join the elite list.
Not just that, Gayle also became the first-ever player to hit 500 international sixes. Against England in 4th ODI, Gayle smashed 14 sixes to take his tally to 506. Gayle has hit 98 sixes in Tests, 305 in ODIs and 103 in T20Is.
Talking about the match, Adil Rashid snared four wickets in five balls as England resisted a determined West Indies effort to claim a 29-run victory in a high-scoring fourth ODI. West Indies managed to score 389 which is their highest-ever in ODIs.
