Rajasthan uploads over 1 lakh farmers' applications on PM-KISAN portal

The government has uploaded 1.27 of farmers on the 'Yojana' (PM-KISAN) portal after criticised the state for farmers not receiving benefits from the scheme, a senior IAS said.

The officer, Neeraj K. Pawan, said on Tuesday that around 10 lakh farmers had applied for the scheme but their applications could not be uploaded as they were not verified by their district collectors.

As the 1.27 were verified they were uploaded, Pawan added.

Under the scheme, Rs 6,000 will be given per year to small and marginal families having combined land holding/ownership of up to two hectares.

The amount will be given in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each and will be transferred directly to the of the beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme.

Gehlot said that an additional 52 lakh farmers names' will be registered on the PM-KISAN portal by March 15.
