300 delegates to attend NAAC seminar

Nagpur: More than 300 delegates from all over the country will participate in the two-day national seminar on ‘New NAAC Parameters for Accreditation and Assessment of Colleges: Challenges and Strategies’ to be held at Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, on March 2 and 3.
The seminar will be organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Ambedkar College and sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru.

The seminar will be inaugurated at 10am on March 2, by former vice-chancellor of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Raghao Mali. He will also be setting the tone of the seminar through his keynote address on ‘Accreditation Process: Latest Parameters’.

The inaugural function will be presided by vice-chancellor of Solapur University Mrunalini Fadnavis. President of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti Bhadant Arya Nagarjun Surai Sasai, secretary Sadanand Fulzele, NAAC assessor Urmila Dabir will be the guests of honour.

Each technical session will begin with deliberation by NAAC expert and will be followed by three selected oral presentations from the participants related to the theme of the session. Officiating principal Ravi Patil, vice-principal AP Joshi, IQAC convener and coordinator HV Menon, organizing secretary Shailesh Bahadure and organizer Devrath Degde were also present in the press conference.

In the first technical session Ashok Thorat, founder director, Institute of Advanced Studies in English, Pune, will be explaining about the research collaborations, linkages and innovative teaching practices applicable for student enrichment and R and D enhancements of the institutions.

The second technical session will involve the expert talk of Mali wherein he will be pressing upon the new guidelines given for effective Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) preparation by HEIs.


The second day of the seminar will begin with the third technical session which will provide pointers about Student Support and Role of HEIs in Providing Infrastructure and Student Satisfaction. Urmila Dabir, NAAC Assessor would lend her expertise to make the participants understand about this intricate topic of every academician’s interest.


In the fourth technical session Beena Inamdar, Former GC Member, NAAC, Bengaluru, would shed light upon the Capability Enhancement, Development Schemes and Institutional Initiatives. The seminar will be concluded with the fifth and last technical session wherein M. R. Kurup, Member IQAC, Mumbai University, would be providing clarity on the DVV and the Preparation of Colleges in Facilitating the Verification Process.
