Caught with his pants down! 'Burglar' is found hanging from his underwear after getting his briefs tangled on a six-foot high fence 'while escaping a home'

A man was discovered hanging upside-down from his underwear on a six-foot high fence early on Wednesday morning. 

The alleged burglar, 23, from Seaton, in Adelaide, was arrested by police after reports of someone smashing windows at a house under construction in Findon. 

Police were called to Trimmer Parade just before 3am after a witness yelled at the suspect and he ran away.

The man, who was carrying a knife in his pocket, was than spotted nearby by police, but ran away when they approached him. 

They soon found him 'dangling upside down from a six-foot fence by his underwear, after he became caught while trying to jump the fence,' Senior Constable Matt Brown told ABC Radio Adelaide.

They arrested and charged the 23-year-old with breach of bail, carrying an offensive weapon and being unlawfully on premises.  

Police will continue to investigate the damages which made to the property.
