Trader held for sale of illicit liquor
TNN | Feb 27, 2019, 07:10 ISTDivision No. 3 police have arrested a person for selling liquor illegally in the city. The accused has been identified as Rapbhoal of Shivji Nagar. Investigating officer Darshan Singh said on Monday they were patrolling near Baba Than Singh chowk and on getting informed that the accused is selling liquor in his general store, a raid was conducted. Police have recovered 6 boxes of illicit liquor from him and arrested him under sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act.
Two caught gambling in city
Division No. 3 police station have arrested two persons for gambling in the city. The accused have been identified as Ashok Kumar of Mayapuri and Tarvinder Singh of Dhoka Mohalla and booked three unidentified persons in the case. Investigating officer Jagdish Raj said on Monday raided the residence where the accused were playing satta. The cops recovered Rs 4,750 from them. A case was registered againt the arrested accused under sections 13, 3 and 67 of the Gambling Act.
Scooter stolen from Kipps market
Division No. 5 police station have booked unidentified persons for allegedly stealing the two-wheeler of a Daba Colony resident. In his complaint, 20-year-old Vinay said he had parked his Active scooter outside Kipps market and had gone to a shop. However, when he returned to the spot, his scooter was missing. On being informed, police registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police are yet to identify and arrest the accused.
