Head clerk caught taking bribe

Bokaro: An anti corruption bureau (ACB) team from Dhanbad caught a head clerk-cum-nazir of Jaridih Block, Kumar Gautam, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 14,000 at his office on Wednesday. He was taking a bribe from the proprietor of G K Hospital Jainamoad, Dinesh Kumar Singh, for initiating process of measurement of land at Telayataad under Jaina Panchayat.
Dhanbad superintendent of police (ACB) Sudarshan Mandal said Singh had submitted application to the circle officer requesting measurement of the land. It was on February 20 that Gautam called him to the office and asked Singh for Rs 15,000 as bribe to conduct the process. When Singh requested for some relief, he offered a ‘discount’ of Rs 1,000 and said the Rs 10,000 will go to the circle officer, Rs 3,000 to Aamin and the rest to other staff.

“Singh then complained to the ACB, Dhanbad and after preliminary investigations, we caught Gautam when he took money from Singh. A case has been registered against Gautam,” Mandal said.
