13 colleges collectively celebrated National Science Day at CGC Landran

Shivalik Institute’s Navneet won Science Model Making Competition during National Science Day Celebrations at CGC Landran
MCMite Diksha & Shivalik’s Geetanjali bagged 1st and 2nd position in Power Point competition
Students from 13 colleges across the state of Punjab participated in the inter-college science competition on the eve of National Science Day celebrations at CGC Landran in a spirit of “Communicating Science for all”. Navneet Kaur from Shivalik Institute of Education & Research, Mohali won the Science model making competition while, Ankita of Dev Samaj claimed 2nd position. Dikhsha Prashar represented MCM DAV College and claimed 1st position in Power Point presentation competition followed by Geetanjali of Shivalik Institute. Manisha Kumari and Jaya Johri from CGC Landran bagged 1st positions in T-shirt painting and File Cover making respectively.
The event organised in association with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology witnessed an out-of-the-ordinary Skit performance by the host college, CGC Landran mirroring the Global issue of climate change ranging from ancient times to machine era. An array of sub issues like pollution, ozone layer depletion and water contamination was well presented in the form of a skit.
“Students who indulge themselves in co-curriculum activities should get preference in terms of attendance, fee structure and other perks. This will indeed lead to varied and unique innovations as they get an opportunity to explore their potentials” said Dr. Jatinder Grover, Dean, Dept. of Education, Panjab University who marked his presence at the event along with Dr. Kulbir Bath , Principal Scientific Officer, PSCST and Dr. B.P. Bhardwaj, Dept. of Teacher Education, NCERT, New Delhi. Memento and Certificates were awarded to the winners by the judges Ms. Anubhuti Sharma, Doon International School, Mohali and Ms. Bharti , Shemrock School, Mohali.
Satnam Singh Sandhu , Chairman CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran paid regards to all the scientists and engineers of the county for doing their devoir well.
